GATHER || SILVER WATER VESSEL EARRINGS || BIG SIZE
This special design was created as a Talisman to call in the rain. It’s made to be a physically tangible prayer for water after the scariest and most volatile fire season that California has seen yet. I’m not saying that this pair of earrings has magical powers, but I am saying that we got our first rain storm of the season the day after I made the first batch of these pieces.
This asymmetrical pair of earrings measure roughly 3” long and 1.25-1.5” wide. They’re surprisingly lightweight and very comfortable to wear. Each pair comes with clear silicone backings to help keep them from accidentally slipping out of your earholes. All silver used is either .925 sterling or .999 fine silver.
“The Dine’(Navajo) People used turquoise to bring needed rain by throwing a stone into a river while praying to the Rain God. Turquoise combines the Water, Wind, Fire and Earth Energies, thereby containing the power and unity of the Storm element. Turquoise, the birthstone for December, has many powerful physical, emotional and spiritual healing properties. It has the ability to create wholeness, communication and spiritual expansion. It is also said that turquoise can attract personal power and wealth. ” - Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsian, The Book of Stones
Silver, the metal of the moon, is a metal known to conduct lunar energy, the archetypal feminine energy, mystery, introversion and the unconscious. It’s associated with the element of earth and activates all seven main chakras in the human body.
|| ABOUT GATHER JEWELRY ||
My name is Leora Coronel and I hand-forge Gather Jewelry in the Sierra Nevada Foothills of Northern California. Working from my home studio, I create small batch and one of a kind pieces that are inspired mostly by my forested mountain surroundings, some ancient battle gear & weaponry and the materials that I use in my designs. When I’m not working on Gather Jewelry, I can often be found tending to the vegetable garden, attempting to forage for wild foods, hanging with my cats, dogs and husband, admiring rocks at the river or kitchen witching whilst sipping my tequila.
