Ashwagandha gets its name from Sanskrit words that can be translated as essence of a horse. Considered to promote a youthful state for both physical and mental health, ashwagandha is a beautiful tonic that benefits many systems. The adaptogenic root is especially recommended for those prone to anxiety or nervousness and is suitable for all ages. The flavor is delicately sweet, a bit hay-like, round, creamy, and a little bitter. Our ashwagandha is organically grown by a small US farm and powdered finely. We recommend using it daily or a few times per week, in smoothies, coffee, baked goods, or - our personal favorite - in warm milk.

Use 1/2-1 teaspoon per serving, daily.

Ingredients: powdered organically grown ashwagandha root (Withania somnifera)

Our products contain carefully tended, responsibly farmed and wild-harvested herbs, all grown and collected by small farms in the US. Our farms are committed to sustainable and regenerative practices.

|| ABOUT HEILBRON HERBS ||
Heilbron Herbs is an apothecary line based out of Western North Carolina, near Asheville. Our products are made of carefully tended, responsibly farmed and wild harvested medicinal herbs, grown and collected by our own farm and a small handful of other growers in this area. We are one of the few brands using botanicals entirely grown in the US by small farms. Because we work directly with farmers, we have a close relationship with the plants we use and are able to watch them through their lifecycle. We have control over so much more than we would if we were working with imported plants, while supporting local agriculture and ensuring that the liveliness of each flower, leaf and root is upheld in everything we create.

Heilbron is a family name, belonging to my grandmother Adele’s natal family, who immigrated from Germany to Sacramento, California in the 1830s. Etymologically, Heilbron means “healing well” or “good source”.  My grandmother was in many ways like a sister to me and was one of the earliest people who nurtured my love of plants by introducing me to so many in the Sierras.
